Image-Based Dynamic Ultrasound Spectrography (IDUS™)
IDUS™ overcomes the key missing steps in breast ultrasound. It combines ultrasound real-time imaging with proprietary stimulation techniques to non-invasively image and stimulate the breast tissues in search for patterns or clusters of microcalcifications, which are strong predictors of certain types of breast cancer. IDUS™ is a screening technology which, in addition to imaging, it also detects, locates and classifies patterns of breast microcalcifications. IDUS™ is complementary to the state-of-the-art hands-free automated whole breast scanning systems as well as to the traditional installed-base units with hand-held scanners. It provides a sensitive adjunctive methodology to X-ray mammography, especially in cases with dense breasts, one of the most challenging problems in breast care, where mammography is not effective. IDUS™ is safe, radiation-free, convenient, user friendly, cost-effective and is most suitable for screening dense breasts and follow-ups.
